The Widcombe Parade Street Party was held on the 7th of June to celebrate the beginning of a new era for Widcombe Parade, Bath. Finally free from the noise, pollution and inconvenience of through traffic! The party was organised by and for the community, but we warmly welcomed about 8000 visitors from other parts of Bath and beyond to come and celebrate with us.
The street part was a huge success. We enjoyed food and drink from our pubs, restaurants and cafes; live music and entertainment on three stages, with contributions from our schools, community groups and choirs, as well as our city’s best buskers and bands of all musical genres; games, competitions, raffle, street theatre and exhibitions, in fact plenty for all the family to enjoy. £1,500 was raised for Action on Hearing Loss and £1,100 raised for Widcombe Junior School’s Great Hall Project.
The street party was sponsored by The Widcombe Association well as several other local businesses such as Bath Honda, Wessex Water, Mayden and Pritchards.
