Getting together to socialise

One of the many benefits of pulling together as a community is that it brings us closer together as friends and neighbours. For newcomers to the area, getting involved is a great way of integrating into the neighbourhood and feeling at home. And many of us who have been here for many years are now on chatting terms with people we had lived close to but hardly knew.

The events we have organized over recent years include our annual summer barbeque and Christmas party, picnics in the grounds of St. Mark’s Community Centre, Safari Suppers, community ceilidhs, cinema nights and open gardens evenings. And just getting together to pick litter, plant bulbs or sweep leaves also ends in a friendly cuppa and a chat.
